About

Understanding and Anticipating Metropolitan Transformations in the Face of Major Events

The Olympic Games, world expos, festivals, climate disasters or health crises are transforming our urban spaces.
These events call for tailored architectural, urban and technological responses.

The MAGE Chair brings together researchers, architects, urban planners, engineers, policymakers and private companies to analyze these transformations and imagine the city of tomorrow.

« In a constantly changing world, where sports, cultural, tourism-related, climatic and health events are reshaping metropolitan spaces in lasting ways, the MAGE Chair is committed to decoding these transformations and imagining solutions tailored to the contemporary challenges of urban planning and architecture. »

Method

An international partnership network

The MAGE Chair is a privileged space for research, experimentation, and education on the major transformations of territories in the 21st century.

It aims to advance education (Master’s and PhD programs), fundamental research through seminars, conferences, publications, and research programs, as well as applied research focused on the influence of major events on contemporary metropolises.

It fosters interdisciplinary initiatives involving members of the academic community and professionals (architects, urban planners, landscape architects, sociologists, engineers, etc.), as well as elected officials, public authorities, and industry representatives in Europe and China.
